Roosevelt Rd - Layout Specifications The track being used is Micro Engineering code 70 flex track. All of the #12 switches being used for crossovers and high speed turnouts are hand built, but many of the #8 and #6 switches being used in the yards and for sidings are purchased skeleton switches. The switches are powered by Circuitron Tortoise motors from below the roadbed. The minimum radius for our mainline is 30 inches and the minimum for sidings and branch lines is 24 inches. The outside rail of our curves is super elevated with .030 inch plastic strip. The layout is being powered by the EasyCAB walkaround throttle system, which we have setup for twelve separate cab operators.
