Work Nights Current Schedule
What happens on a work night? On work nights, members arrive around 7-8 pm at the layout space. Many members have tasks they are already working on for the evening, but there are plenty of projects available for those that are not already working on a project. Members work on tasks suited to their skills, but other members are willing to teach if someone is interested in learning. Some projects being worked on now are:
What do members bring with them? Many of the members that come on work nights bring their own tools. They are working on projects that may require tools that are not normally available at the club. Some basic tools are available at the club and you may be able to borrow a tool from another member. What you need from home really depends on what you are working on. Some projects require no tools, so all you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to learn and put in some work time. Someone will have something for you to help with on a work night. Is there a list of projects that are on-going? There currently are no plans to have a publicly viewable list of on-going projects. The list of sample projects above will be updated from time to time to reflect what kinds of projects are currently underway. Members will have access to a list of projects within the secure members area. They will be able to put their name down for a project or to see which projects are currently slated for work. Are guests allowed on work nights? Yes! We want guests to see our members at work and learn about the working side of our club. We want them to see the projects that are in progress and what other projects are possible. Maybe a guest will see a project that catches their eye and they might want to join to be able to help on the project. Many new members have joined to learn aspects of layout building to help improve their own layouts at home while helping out the club. Come on in and see what we are doing. Maybe you'll find a project you'd like to work on! |
